The Texas Flute Society is proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Donna Marie Haire Young Artist Competition.
Emily Park: 1st Place
Emily Park began flute lessons at the age of ten, and instantly fell in love with music. She is 15 years old and lives in Lewisville, TX and is a sophomore at Hebron High School. She studies with Monica Song. She is the principal flutist in the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and has been a 6A Texas All-Stater for the past two years. She was the principal of the TMEA 6A All-State Symphony Orchestra this year. Emily has also been awarded consistent outstanding soloist awards from the UIL State Solo Contest, Texas Flute Festival, and Solo and Ensemble.
As she looks ahead, she sees her passion for music taking her around the world as a soloist, becoming an orchestra member, or even becoming a teacher. Music is a major aspect of her life and fills her days with joy as she creates music out of passion and happiness.
Ingrid McDuffee: 2nd Place
Ingrid attended the Flute Institute at Interlochen Arts Camp in 2019 and has been accepted to Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute for summer 2020. Ingrid studies under Rebecca Curtis.
